The modern world is bent on secure passwords. Some folks have the hardest time making a password that is complex and easy to remember. So we wrote a little app to help a little:
History:
In several environments we’ve had the pleasure of helping support, complex passwords are the bane of most users and some administrators. Love it or hate it, complex passwords are here to stay.
For those who create accounts, having the same default password is an easily mitigated security risk. But are complex, random character passwords like takA#cutpl1r3chitm-9 really the solution for a user’s first login? We think not.
Enter GB/2 Labs Password Generator!
Usage:
Give the app a double click. If you don’t like what it presents, click “No” to try again. If you do like it, click “Yes” to have it placed on the clipboard and quit the app.

Wait a second! Why does it need internet?!
We query a few different websites to grab the words used to create the passwords.
Isn’t that a security risk?
If someone cracked the seed values of the RNG and queried the same sites on the same day and roughly the same time, maybe. But the sites are queried in real time and are updated frequently (they are news sites) and the passwords aren’t stored (except on your PC’s clipboard when you want it) or sent anywhere.
If you’d like the list of sites, reach out to us and we’ll send them to you. Or if you’d like to add or replace any, we’re happy to customize it for you.

Since it’s written in AutoIt, some AV vendors tend to flag it as malicious. Rest assured that it’s a false positive. Please see the VirusTotal link and file hashes below. VirusTotal scan was run on 22 August 2025 and can be viewed here.

Disclaimer
As usual, use this app at your own risk. As of this writing, it has only been run against Windows 10 22H2 and 11 23H2 Enterprise. Not that there’s much that could go wrong, but it works great and without issue in the tested environments.
That said, there are neither warranties nor guarantees that it’ll work with anything except our own PCs. If you do run into issues or bugs during your testing, leave a comment or drop us a line here.
Peace and victory,
Your friends at GB/2 Labs
